1.Development of the Test Platform for IMT-A Key Technologies
Aiming at IMT-A key technologies and system scheme, we’ll construct an integrated test lab platform which will be the first extensible, reconfigurable, universal and open platform in China, boasting many functions such as emulation of various real-world wireless communication scenario and environment as well as comprehensive simulation, test, evaluation of system capability by both software and hardware. Moreover, it will be able to collect and analyze data and provide simulation and concept demonstration of wireless broadband multimedia services and some new wireless communication services.
2.Research on Relay Technology
According to system performance index of IMT-A and 3GPP LTE-Advanced, the merge demand of FDD and TDD relay technology is taken fully into consideration, which consists: research on physical layer technology of relay system; network architecture and functional design of relay system; frame structure of relay system and layer1/layer2 signaling protocol design; research on TDD relay specific technology; research on networking technology of relay system; relay technology evaluation and verification platform construction.
3.Research on Coordinated Multiple Point Communications
In order to formulate the IMT-A standard and to satisfy the requirement of IMT-A system, we engage in the research of CoMP technologies which can reduce the inter-cell interference and improve the system throughput effectively. Especially, in the system with multiple base stations, we focus on the research of user/base station grouping and coordinated multiple input multiple output technologies, complete the evaluation of system level simulation, and develop the correlative CoMP prototype.
4.Research on key technology of spectrum sensing
Focus on key technology of spectrum sensing, including: a) centralized, distributed and mixed spectrum detection technology; b) signal recognition,feature extraction and modeling techniques for the primary users; c) the classification extraction of the sensing results and off-line processing technology; perform simulation evaluation for spectrum sensing technologies, and develop a prototype system to test the related technologies.
5.Research on the Self-organizing and Self-optimizing Cellular Networks
Focus on the key technologies of self-organizing and self-optimizing in cellular networks. The innovative research is unfolded on the following three aspects: self-organization and self-configuration of IMT-A base stations, capacity and coverage optimization and network mobility optimization.
6.Distributed Gbit Testing System for IMT-A
In accordance with IMT-A key technology and system approach, we will construct the first open、extendible、reconfigurable and universal lab integrated test platform in China, which includes the simulation of a variety of real wireless communication scenes and channel circumstances, simulation, testing and evaluation of system performance on multiple software/hardware platforms, collection and analysis of test data, simulation and concept demonstration of wireless broadband multimedia service and novel wireless service.
